Please be aware that this old REACH registration data factsheet is no longer maintained; it remains frozen as of 19th May 2023.

The new ECHA CHEM database has been released by ECHA, and it now contains all REACH registration data. There are more details on the transition of ECHA's published data to ECHA CHEM here.

Executive summary:

In a study (Defitraces, 2010), the melting point of guetol was determined according to OECD 102 guideline and GLP, using the Differential Scanning Calorimetry (DSC) method.

The mean value for the melting point is explained as the mean of at least two assays for which the melting point values are in the range of the estimated accuracy of the method: ± 0.5°C up to 326.9 °C.

In this study, the mean melting point of the test item was determined on 2 assays at 26.7 ± 0.5°C.

Description of key information

The experimental melting point of Guetol (Defitraces 2010) was 26.7 ± 0.5°C, using DSC method according to OECD 102 guideline.

Key value for chemical safety assessment

Melting / freezing point at 101 325 Pa:
26.7 °C

Additional information

The experimental result was selected as key study.

The literature data (SRC) gave a melting point of 29°C. As it is near to the key study, it was selected as supporting study.
