Registration Dossier

Data platform availability banner - registered substances factsheets

Please be aware that this old REACH registration data factsheet is no longer maintained; it remains frozen as of 19th May 2023.

The new ECHA CHEM database has been released by ECHA, and it now contains all REACH registration data. There are more details on the transition of ECHA's published data to ECHA CHEM here.

First-aid measures

Inhalation - Move the exposed person to fresh air at once. Get medical attention if any discomfort continues.

Ingestion - DO NOT INDUCE VOMITING! Rinse mouth thoroughly. Get medical attention if any discomfort continues.

Skin contact - Wash the skin immediately with soap and water. Get medical attention if irritation persists after washing.

Eye contact - Make sure to remove any contact lenses from the eyes before rinsing. Promptly wash eyes with plenty of water while lifting

the eye lids. Continue to rinse for at least 15 minutes. Get medical attention.

Fire-fighting measures

Extinguishing media - Extinguish with foam, carbon dioxide, dry powder or water fog.

Special hazards arising from the substance or mixture - Thermal decomposition or combustion may liberate carbon oxides and other toxic gases or vapours. Do not allow runoff to sewer, waterway or ground. Cool containers exposed to flames with water until well after the fire is out.

Advice for firefighters - Protective equipment for fire-figthers.  Self contained breathing apparatus and full protective clothing must be worn in case of fire.

Accidental release measures

Personal precautions, protective equipment and emergency procedures - Wear protective clothing as described in Section 8 of the safety data sheet. Provide adequate ventilation.

Environmental precautions - Do not allow to enter drains, sewers or watercourses. Spillages or uncontrolled discharges into watercourses must be

IMMEDIATELY alerted to the Environmental Agency or other appropriate regulatory body.

Methods and material for containment and cleaning up - Shovel into dry containers. Cover and move the containers. Flush the area with water. Dispose of waste and residues in accordance with local authority requirements

Handling and storage

Precautions for safe handling - Wear protective clothing as described in Section 8 of the safety data sheet. Avoid generating excess dust. Avoid contact with skin and eyes. Adopt best manual handling considerations when handling, carrying and dispensing. Avoid breathing dust.

Conditions for safe storage, including any incompatibilities - Store in tightly closed original container in a dry, cool and well-ventilated place. Keep in original container.

Disposal considerations

Substance has low water solubility and potentially low rate of biodegradation so discharge to the environment through waste water processes must be avoided.

Dispose of by chemical waste disposal methods, such as incineration.
