Administrative data

First-aid measures

General information:

Remove soiled or soaked clothing immediately. Remove affected person from danger area, lay him down. Take for medical treatment

After inhalation:

Remove the casualty into fresh air and keep him calm. In the event of symptoms seek medical advice.

After contact with skin:

In case of contact with skin wash off immediately with polyethylene glycol 400, then with plenty of water. If polyethylene glycol is not available, rinse of with plenty of water. Take for medical treatment.

After contact with eyes:

Rinse the affected eye immediately with plenty of water at the same time keep the unaffected eye well protected.

After ingestion:

Call in a physician immediately and show him the Safety Data Sheet. Allow the patient to vomit of his own accord only if fully conscious.

Fire-fighting measures

Suitable extinguishing media:

water spray jet, foam

Extinguishing media that must not be used for safety reasons:

Full water jet, carbon dioxide

Special hazards from the substance itself, its combustion products or from its vapours:

In case of fires, hazardous combustion gases are formed: Carbon monoxide (CO), Nitrous gases (NOx)

Special protective equipment for firefighting:

Use self-contained breathing apparatus

Further information

Fire residues and contaminated firefighting water must be disposed of in accordance with the local regulations.

Accidental release measures

Personal precautions:

Wear suitable personal protective equipment. Avoid contact with skin and eyes. Remove persons to safety.

Environmental precautions:

Do not allow to enter drains or waterways

Methods for cleaning up/taking up:

Take up with suitable equipment and if necessary collect in closed containers. Clean contaminated floors and objects thoroughly with water and detergents, observing environmental regulations. When picked up, treat material as prescribed under heading "Disposal". Containers in which spilt substance has been collected must be adequately labelled

Handling and storage

Advice on safe handling:

Ensure adequate ventilation. Avoid contact with skin, eyes, and clothing.

Advice on protection against fire and explosion:

Observe the general rules of industrial fire protection. Take precautionary measures against electrostatic charges - earthing necessary during

loading operations. Keep away from sources of ignition. Dust can form an explosive mixture with air.

Further information on storage conditions:

Keep container tightly closed and dry

Exposure controls / personal protection

During its lifecycle the substance is handled under strictly controlled conditions and is rigorously contained in accordance Art. 18.

Based on the knowledge of the basic hazards to humans and environment technical, organizational and PPE measures are taken to minimize release and exposure of this substance. National regulatory requirements for the handling of chemicals are also fulfilled. Employees are regularly trained. The efficiency of these measures is controlled e.g. by workplace measurements. In case of deviations these measures are adapted.

General protective measures:

Do not inhale vapours or dust. Avoid contact with eyes and skin

Hygiene measures:

Wash hands before breaks and after work. Use barrier skin cream. Remove soiled or soaked clothing immediately and clean thoroughly before using again.

Respiratory protection : Protective mask

Hand protection :

Nitrile rubber gloves. Minimum breakthrough time (glove): not determined. Minimum thickness (glove): not determined. Observe the information of the glove manufacturers on permeability and breakthrough times and other workplace requirements.

Eye protection : safety glasses/face shield

Body protection : protective clothing

Stability and reactivity

Thermal decomposition : approx. 304 °C

Hazardous reactions: When handled and stored appropriately no dangerous reactions are known

Hazardous decomposition products: Nitrous gases

Disposal considerations

Product:

Product should be be taken to a suitable and authorized waste disposal site in accordance with relevant regulations and if necessary after consultation with the waste disposal operator and/or the competent Authorities.

Uncleaned packaging: Packaging that cannot be cleaned should be disposed of as product waste
