Guidance on Safe Use
Administrative data
First-aid measures
Inhalation : Remove victim to fresh air. If you feel unwell, seek medical advice (show the label where possible).
Skin contact : May produce skin irritation. Remove affected clothing and wash all exposed skin area with mild soap and water. If skin irritation occurs, call physician.
Eye contact : May cause eye irritation. Rinse thoroughly with plenty of water, also under the eyelids. Obtain ophthalmologist attention if pain, blinking, tears or redness persist.
Ingestion : DO NOT DELAY. IF SWALLOWED : Rinse mouth. Immediately call a POISON CENTER or doctor. Specific treatment.
Prevention : If you feel unwell, seek medical advice (show the document where possible).
Fire-fighting measures
Extinguishing media
Suitable extinguishing media : Foam. Dry powder. Carbon dioxide. Sand. Water spray.
Unsuitable extinguishing media : Do not use a heavy water stream.
Surrounding fires : Use water spray or fog for cooling exposed containers.
Special hazards arising from the substance or mixture
Flammable class : Not classified as flammable but will burn. May form flammable/explosive dust-air mixture.
Hazardous combustion products : Carbon monoxide. Carbon dioxide.
Advice for fire-fighters
Protection against fire : Do not enter fire area without proper protective equipment, including respiratory protection.
Special procedures : Exercise caution when fighting any chemical fire. Avoid (reject) fire-fighting water to enter environment.
Accidental release measures
Personal precautions, protective equipment and emergency procedures
For emergency responders : Avoid contact with skin, eyes and clothing. Do not breathe dust. Do not breathe vapour. Equip cleanup crew with proper protection. Ventilate area.
Technical measures : Avoid the generation of airborne dust. Eliminate every possible source of ignition.
Take precautionary measures against static discharges.
Environmental precautions
Environmental precautions : Prevent entry to sewers and public waters.
Notify authorities if product enters sewers or public waters.
Methods and material for containment and cleaning up
Clean up methods : Wash contaminated equipment or sites of leaks with copious quantities of water.
Dispose in a safe manner in accordance with local/national regulations. On land, sweep or shovel into suitable containers. Minimize generation of dust.
Handling and storage
Precautions for safe handling
Personal protection : Wear recommended personal protective equipment.
Technical protective measures : Use special care to avoid static electric charges. Provide proper grounding.
Provide good ventilation in process area to prevent formation of vapour.
Handling : Wash hands and other exposed areas with mild soap and water before eat, drink or smoke and when leaving work.
Special precautions : Avoid the generation of airborne dust. Do not breathe dust. Do not breathe vapour.
Avoid contact with skin, eyes and clothing.
Conditions for safe storage, including any incompatibilities
Storage : Store in dry, cool, well-ventilated area. Keep only in the original container in a cool, well ventilated place. Keep container closed when not in use.
Storage - away from : Keep container away from flammable and explosive substances, oxidising agents and corrosives. Strong bases. Strong acids. Sources of ignition. Direct sunlight.
Packing : Paper bags with polyethylene liner. Fibre keg. Big-bag.

Exposure controls / personal protection
Personal protection : Avoid all unnecessary exposure.
• Respiratory protection : If risk of inhalation of dust wear general purpose dust respirator (disposable).
In a confined space, wear self-contained breathing apparatus open circuit type.
• Hand protection : Use PVC gloves.
• Skin protection : If skin contact or contamination of clothing is likely, protective clothing should be worn. Use safety shoes resistant to chemical products.
• Eye protection : Where excessive dust may result: Tightly fitting safety goggles.
• Others : When using, do not eat, drink or smoke.
Hygiene mesures : Wash hands and other exposed areas with mild soap and water before eat, drink or smoke and when leaving work.
Wash clothing before re-using.
Technical protective measures : Provide local exhaust or general room ventilation to minimize exposure to dust.
Stability and reactivity
Reactivity
Reactivity : Not established.
Chemical stability
Chemical stability : Stable under recommended storage conditions.
Possibility of hazardous reactions
Hazardous reactions : Not established.
Conditions to avoid
Conditions to avoid : Heat. Open flame. Sparks. Extremely high or low temperatures. Direct sunlight.
Incompatible materials
Materials to avoid : Strong oxidizers. Strong acids. Strong bases.
Hazardous decomposition products
Hazardous decomposition products : Fumes.
Disposal considerations
Waste treatment methods
General : Avoid release to the environment.
Dispose in a safe manner in accordance with local/national regulations.
Disposal method : Recover or recycle. If not possible burn in an approved incinerator.
Contaminated packaging : Packaging which cannot be decontaminated should be disposed of like the material.
