Based on analytical data generated during the determination of water solubility, the dissolved content of the sample solutions was expected to also contain a significant concentration of hydrolysis/degradation products, as well as the initial parent test item. This was concluded not to impact on the validity of the test as, due to the rapid hydrolysis/degradation observed for this test item, the hydrolysis/degradation products were considered equally relevant with respect to environmental risk assessment, with the parent test item expected to degrade on accidental release into water.

The surface tension of Linalyl isobutyrate was measured according to OECD Guideline No. 115 (ring method).
The surface tension of Linalyl isobutyrate was 70.2 mN/m at 20.0 ± 0.5 °C (from duplicate aqueous samples prepared at 90% saturation, individual replicate values being 69.7 and 70.7 mN/m). The test item was considered not to be surface-active.
