Exposure scenarios – updated standard phrases catalogue available

The exposure scenario for communication (ESCom) standard phrases catalogue has been updated with new content. The aim is to provide good quality phrases on the safe use of chemicals in the exposure scenario for communication, which is annexed to the safety data sheet.

The ESCom phrase catalogue is developed under the leadership of Cefic and DUCC. ECHA contributes actively to the ESCom activities. This activity is part of the CSR/ES Roadmap: http://echa.europa.eu/csr-es-roadmap/action-area-3.

The catalogue is available on Cefic website:  http://www.cefic.org/Industry-support/Implementing-reach/Guidances-and-Tools1 and on the eSDScom site http://www.esdscom.eu/english/escom-phrases.  It can also be downloaded as a Chesar import file, allowing the use of the ESCom standard phrases in Chesar.

The catalogue will further be developed in the coming months, including the alignment with the ESCom XML format. A new release is expected later this year.
