New features in REACH-IT
ECHA’s new house bank is ING Belgium NV. Please instruct your accounting department about the new details on ECHA's invoices.
The reference status of each registration is now visible for members in the joint submission page. There's also a new status: Invalid. Public consultations on harmonised classification and labelling
ECHA is looking for comments on harmonised classification and labelling proposals for:
Bisphenol A is an industrial chemical in use since the 1960s. Most of it is used in the manufacturing of plastics, but some is used in resins and in thermal paper (until 2020). Since 1 March 2018, BPA has been classified as a substance that has toxic effects on our ability to reproduce (Repr. 1B, H360F).
All EU manufacturers, importers, or suppliers of BPA must classify and label mixtures containing BPA as toxic for reproduction when above 0.3 %. BPA is also restricted at EU level in a number of applications or articles, including thermal papers. It is listed in the Candidate List of substances of very high concern (SVHCs) and is currently identified as an endocrine disruptor, causing adverse effects to human health and the environment.
ECHA is looking for comments on the harmonised classification and labelling proposal by Germany to further classify BPA for acute and chronic aquatic hazards (category 1) with M factors of 1 and 10, respectively.
The deadline for comments is 30 August 2019, 23:59 Helsinki time
