New version of REACH-IT in November – downtime before

A new version of the dossier submission and communication tool, REACH-IT, will be introduced on 7 November 2017. To manage the update, the tool will be closed from 1-6 November inclusive.

REACH 2018

New intentions to identify a substance of very high concern

New intentions for identifying as a substances of very high concern have been received for:

  • Terphenyl, hydrogenated (EC 262-967-7), with an expected submission date on 7 February 2018;
  • Phenanthrene ( EC 201-581-5), and
  • Pyrene (EC 204-927-3), with an expected submission date on 6 August 2018.

Supply chain communication

ENES work programme to 2020

The work programme of the Exchange Network on Exposure Scenarios (ENES) until 2020 is being developed. Improving supply chain communication is the main focus of the programme and increased attention is given to the needs of end users of chemicals.

The work programme will be presented at the 11th meeting of ENES in Helsinki on 23 and 24 November 2017. ENES11 will also include practical sessions on how registrants and formulators can process sector use map information, including generating safety data sheet for mixtures, and extracting information from extended safety data sheets for companies' operations.

Register now: Stock-taking Conference on the Implementation of REACH Authorisation
13-14 November 2017

ECHA, together with the European Commission, will organise a conference on applications for authorisation on 13-14 November in Helsinki.

The purpose of the conference is to assess the evolution and achievements of the authorisation process in terms of the progression of substitution, proper control of risks and cost-effectiveness. It will also discuss how to improve the process.

Calls for information

Public consultation launched on scientific evaluation of occupational exposure limits for benzene and nickel and its compounds

ECHA is inviting comments on the scientific underpinning of the occupational exposure limits (OELs) for benzene and nickel and its compounds which are currently subject to the opinions of ECHA’s Committee for Risk Assessment. The opinions will be sent to the Commission by 26 March 2018.

The public consultation will end on 7 November.
