Test solutions

Details on test solutions:
Identity and concentration of auxiliary solvent for dispersal: Test concentrations were prepared by stirring a dispersion
of the test substance in test medium (100 mg/l) for 72 hours
and subsequently filtering this mixture through a 0.45 mm
filter to obtain the soluble fraction. An additional test
solution was prepared containing 10% of this filtrate. The
final test solutions were all clear and colourless.

Test organisms

Test organisms (species):
other: Carp (Cyprinus carpio, Teleostei, Cyprinidae)

Study design

Test type:

Comments:
A limit test was performed exposing fish to the WSF of the
test substance. Analysis of the samples taken at the start
(t=0) of the limit test showed a measured concentration of
0.254 mg/l. After 24 hours the test substance concentration
had decreased by approximately 50% and after 96 hours of
exposure, it had further decreased to a measured value of
0.0783 mg/l. This decrease coincided with a precipitation
observed in the test solution during the test period. Hence,
the maximum test substance concentration soluble in the
test medium apparently approximated 0.08 mg/l.

Under the conditions of the test, the test substance induced
no visible effects in carp exposed to a WSF prepared at 100
mg/l and corresponding with an actual concentration of 0.08
mg/l (NOEC). The 96h-LC50 was > 0.08 mg/l, the maximum
concentration soluble in test medium pre-exposed to 100 mg/l
for 72 hours.
