Description of key information

No reliable measured data exists for toxicity to microorganisms for Alchisor CAL111. However, adequate reliable measured data exists for toxicity to microorganisms to the analogue of Alchisor CAL 111 (namely, Alchisor CAL123). One reliable (Klimisch 1) toxicity study for microorganisms was available for Alchisor CAL 123. The toxicity of Alchisor CAL 123 to activated sludge was reported by Schaefer & Twilly (2010) in an OECD 209 guideline and GLP compliant study. Activated sludge was exposed nominal concentrations of toxicant for 3 hours, resulting in a 3-hr LC50 of >1,000 mg/L, based respiration.

Additional information

Alchisor CAL 111 is thetrade name for decene, hydroformylation products, high boiling. As defined in the ‘Read-Across Justification Document’, data provided for the analogue substance Alchisor CAL 123 is representative of Alchisor CAL 111 and suitable for assessment purpose.

No reliable measured data exists for toxicity to microorganisms for Alchisor CAL111. However, adequate reliable measured data exists for toxicity to microorganisms to the analogue of Alchisor CAL 111 (namely, Alchisor CAL123). The toxicity of Alchisor CAL 123, characterized as alkenes, C11-12, hydroformylation products, distillation residues, to microorganisms has been evaluated for this dossier. One reliable (Klimisch 1) toxicity study for microorganisms was available for Alchisor CAL 123. The toxicity of Alchisor CAL 123 to activated sludgewas reported by Schaefer & Twilly (2010) in an OECD 209 guideline and GLP compliant study. Activated sludge was exposed nominal concentrations of toxicant for 3 hours, resulting in a 3-hr LC50 of >1,000 mg/L, based respiration. This reliable study result is designated as Key for the toxicity to microorganisms endpoint.
