Please be aware that this old REACH registration data factsheet is no longer maintained; it remains frozen as of 19th May 2023.

The new ECHA CHEM database has been released by ECHA, and it now contains all REACH registration data. There are more details on the transition of ECHA's published data to ECHA CHEM here.

Additional information

This assessment relies primarily upon read-across from structurally and functionally similar substances. An Ames screen is available together with a functional receptor screening test in order to understand its potential for interaction with the human glucocorticoid receptor.

The conclusion of the assessment relies primarily upon read across from structurally-related substances. The limited data available demonstrate similar properties to those substances and support this approach, consistent with international guidelines for read across of toxicological data (1, 2).

Justification for classification or non-classification

The assessment relies primarily upon read across from structurally-related substances. The limited data available demonstrate similar properties to those substances and support this approach.

GSK2619294A is not considered to be acutely toxic based upon results obtained with similar materials, as follows:

Not expected to be toxic if ingested.

Based upon data for a wide spectrum of substances with steroidal structures and read across from CCI12778, significant acute toxicity potential is not expected with GSK2619294A

Not expected to be toxic if inhaled

Not expected to be toxic following contact with skin

•Predicted dermal penetration is low, suggesting that systemic toxicity from dermal contact is unlikely. However, in view of the relatively potent glucocorticoid activity in vitro, potential for local immunosuppressive effects and SWR from direct cannot be excluded. Other effects of direct contact with skin include itching and burning sensations, thinning of the skin and increased susceptibility to bruising.

• Substances possessing steroid structures rarely produce significant irritation
