Please be aware that this old REACH registration data factsheet is no longer maintained; it remains frozen as of 19th May 2023.

The new ECHA CHEM database has been released by ECHA, and it now contains all REACH registration data. There are more details on the transition of ECHA's published data to ECHA CHEM here.

Description of key information

Short-term toxicity to fish

The LC50 (96-h) of ditetradecyl peroxydicarbonate is greater than 1000 mg/L.

Long-term toxicity to fish

Statistical evaluation revealed no significant effect of MYPC on hatchability, post hatch survival or growth in terms of individual total length and individual dry weight up to the highest tested concentration of 403 µg/L (mean measured concentration).

Short-term toxicity to aquatic invertebrates

In a 48-hour immobilisation test with Daphnia magna the EC50 and NOEC were determined to be > 100 mg/L and 100 mg/L, respectively.

Long-term toxicity to aquatic invertebrates

Based on a worst-case exposure far in excess of a realistically achievable environmental concentration, no effects to any of the assessed endpoints were observed, therefore, the NOEC was determined to be 120 µg/L (nominal) or 44.7 µg/L (TWA).

Toxicity to aquatic algae and cyanobacteria

In a 72-h algal growth inhibition test with Pseudokirchneriella subcapitata the EC50 and the NOEC (both based on growth rate) were determined to be > 100 mg/L and 100 mg/L, respectively.

Toxicity to microorganisms

No inhibition of the respiration rate occured at 1000 mg/L of ditetradecyl peroxydicarbonate absorbed onto silica gel. This result shows that the test item, at the obtained distribution, is not toxic for activated sludge.
