Reference
Endpoint:
particle size distribution (granulometry)
Type of information:
experimental study
Adequacy of study:
key study
Study period:
24 August 2011
Reliability:
1 (reliable without restriction)
Rationale for reliability incl. deficiencies:
other: Guideline compliant study
Qualifier:
according to guideline
Guideline:
other: DIN 66165
GLP compliance:
no
Type of method:
other: Optical characterization
Type of distribution:
other: diameter
Percentile:
D50
Remarks on result:
not determinable because of methodological limitations
Remarks:
cannot be determined due to the stickyness of the test material

Due to the sticky and waxy product properties of the test item the particle size cannot be determined by sieving. Optical characterization indicated that the substance is sticky viscous mass.

Executive summary:

In the non-GLP Klimisch 1 study from Bütfering (2013) the particle size distribution of Sulfosuccinic (isoFA C10)diE, Na should be determined according to DIN 66165 using the sieving method.

Due to the sticky and waxy product properties of the test item the particle size cannot be determined by sieving.Optical characterization indicated that the substance is sticky viscous mass.

This study is considered relevant for the risk assessment.
