Guidance on Safe Use
Administrative data
First-aid measures
General advice: Take off immediately all contaminated clothing.
Dust inhalation: Move to fresh air. Oxygen or artificial respiration if needed. In case of persistent problems : Consult a physician.
Skin contact: Wash immediately, abundantly and thoroughly with soap and water.
Eye contact: Wash immediately, abundantly and thoroughly with water. If irritation persists, consult an ophthalmologist.
Ingestion: In case of problems : Consult a doctor.
Protection of first-aiders: In case of insufficient ventilation, wear suitable respiratory equipment. Protective suit.
Fire-fighting measures
Suitable extinguishing media: Water spray, Carbon dioxide (CO2)
Special hazards arising from the substance or mixture:
Thermal decomposition giving flammable and toxic products :, Carbon monoxide
Advice for firefighters:
Specific methods: Hose down gases, fumes and/or dust with water. Cool containers / tanks with water spray. In case of fire, remove exposed containers.
Special protective actions for fire-fighters: Wear self-contained breathing apparatus and protective suit.
Accidental release measures
Personal precautions, protective equipment and emergency procedures:
Evacuate non-essential staff and those not equipped with individual protection apparatus. Avoid contact with the skin and the eyes. Keep
away from heat and sources of ignition. Do not smoke. Use personal protective equipment. In case of insufficient ventilation, wear suitable
respiratory equipment
Environmental precautions:
Do not release into the environment. Do not let product enter drains.
Methods and materials for containment and cleaning up:
Methods for cleaning up:
Never return spills in original containers for re-use.
Recovery:
Shovel or sweep up. Shovel into suitable container for disposal.
Handling and storage
Precautions for safe handling:
Technical measures/Precautions:
Storage and handling precautions applicable to products: Solid. Provide appropriate exhaust ventilation at machinery. Provide showers, eyebaths.
Provide water supplies near the point of use. Provide self-contained breathing apparatus nearby (for emergency intervention).
Safe handling advice:
Great cleanliness in work areas is a necessary and important factor for safety. Protect from contamination. In case of insufficient ventilation,
wear suitable respiratory equipment.
Hygiene measures:
Avoid contact with the skin and the eyes. When using do not eat, drink or smoke.
Wash hands after handling. Remove contaminated clothing and protective equipment before entering eating areas.
Conditions for safe storage, including any incompatibilities:
Store in cool place. Keep in a well-ventilated place. Keep in a dry place. Provide impermeable floor. Use only very clean containers and
equipment free from traces of impurities. Never return unused material to storage receptacle. Consult ARKEMA before storage design.
Incompatible products:
Strong oxidizing agents, Acids
Packaging material:
Recommended: Polyethylene
Specific use(s) (End Use): None.
