Please be aware that this old REACH registration data factsheet is no longer maintained; it remains frozen as of 19th May 2023.

The new ECHA CHEM database has been released by ECHA, and it now contains all REACH registration data. There are more details on the transition of ECHA's published data to ECHA CHEM here.

Additional information

The acute toxicity to fish of the test substance was tested according to German Industrial Standards DIN 38 412, part 15 in a static freshwater test with Golden orfe (Leuciscus idus) as test organisms (BASF AG, 1989). Based on a range-finding test, the nominal test concentrations in the definitive test were: 4.64, 10.0, 21.5, 46.4 and 100.0 mg/L. Furthermore, a control and a reference substance (Chloroacetamide) were included. 10 organisms were introduced to each vessel, thus a biomass loading rate of 3.5 g/L was reported. A 16 h dark and 8 h light cycle was introduced. Physico-chemical parameters (i.e. temperature, dissolved oxygen and pH) were recorded after 1, 24, 48, 72, and 96 h. Tumbling was observed at the test concentration of 100 mg/L after 4 h of exposure. No mortality occurred, thus the LC50(96h) is reported as > 100 mg/L and Butylaminoethanol can be considered as non-toxic to freshwater fish.
