Description of key information

Skin:  Maximisation test of Magnusson and Kligman was accomplished and concluded that test material did not induce skin sensitisation in guinea pigs. (OECD TG 406)
Eye: The test material was considered not irritating to rabbits eyes  (OECD TG 405).

Additional information

There were two guideline tests (OECD TG 404,405) were well conducted by Allen in 1997 and the results indicated that the test chemical was considered as a non-irritating substance to skin and eye via acute dermal and eye irritation/corrosion studies in rabbits.

Moreover,the laboratory facilities which complying with OECD Principles of Good Laboratory Practice were utilized in order to ensure the consistency and reliability for the results.These two studies were utilized as key studies in substance irritation and corrosion evaluation due to their high adequation, reliability and relevance to this element.

According to the existing studies on irritation and corrosion in laboratory animals, which provide sound conclusive evidence that the

substance (CAS:5945-33-5 ) was considered as non-irritation and non-corrosion.
