Additional information

Short term aquatic toxicity studies are available for fish, aquatic invertebrates and algae and a long term study is available for algae exposed to 3-methoxybutan-1-ol. These studies have been used to derive the PNECs for this substance.

Conclusion on classification

The lowest acute toxicity value for 3-methoxybutan-1-ol is > 100 mg/L and the substance is readily biodegradable. According to criteria in Directive 67/548/EEC and Regulation (EC) No. 1272/2008 the substance is not classified for the environment.
