Description of key information

Density (EU Method A.3.)The mean density of the test substance was determined to be 1.290 g/cm3 at 20 °C (two samples).

Key value for chemical safety assessment

Relative density at 20C:
1.29

Additional information

The relative density of dimethylpropanal was determined by a gas comparison pycnometer method using a multi-pycnometer (AccuPyc™ 1330, Micromeritics Instrument Corporation, USA).

The temperature was 20.0 and 20.5 °C during the measurements. The results of the two measurements of the density for the test substance were: 1.290 g/cm3 and 1.289 g/cm3 .The mean density of the test substance was determined to be 1.290 g/cm3 at

20 °C (two samples).
