With respect to the toxicity to soil macroorganisms, long-term effects of TCPP on the reproductive performance of earthworms was determined in a study performed in compliance with the OECD draft guideline 222. A normalised NOEC of 18.02 mg/kg dwt has been determined after 56 days of exposure.

Concerning the toxicity to terrestrial plants, the lowest NOEC was determined in a study conducted according to the OECD guideline 208 accounting for 17 mg/kg dry weight for emergence of seedlings of Lactuca sativa.

Regarding the toxicity to soil microorganisms, no data for TCPP is available. Therefore, results of an inhibition test of nitrogen transformation by soil microorganisms conducted according to the guideline OECD Guideline 216, using the structural analogue tris[2-chloro-1-(chloromethyl)ethyl] phosphate as test substance are taken into account. A 28-day NOEC of >=128 mg/kg wet weight was determined.
