Additional information

Two key studies are available investigating the short-term toxicity of D-Glucopyranose, oligomeric, C10-16-alkyl glycosides, carboxymethyl ethers, sodium salts (CAS 383178-66-3) to fish.

One study investigated the short-term toxicity to fresh water fish according to OECD guideline 203 and GLP using Brachydanio rerio as test organism (Hydrotox 2002). Analytically verified test concentrations of 0.6 to 10 mg a.i./L were tested in a semi-static test design. The 96h-LC50 value was determined to be 7.1 mg a.i./L based on the nominal test concentration.

The second study investigated the short-term toxicity to marine fish according to OECD guideline 203 as adapted by OSPARCOM (1995) and GLP using Scophthalmus maximus as test organism (Hudson 2003). The semi-static study tested concentrations between 0.96 and 96 mg a.i/L. No mortality was observed in the control and the 0.96 mg a.i./L treatment. All test organisms died in the remaining test concentrations during an exposure time of 96 h. Thus, the 96h-LC50 value was determined to be 1.98 mg a.i./L based on the nominal test concentration.
