Endpoint:
relative density
Type of information:
experimental study
Adequacy of study:
key study
Study period:
28th March - 6th June 1994
Reliability:
1 (reliable without restriction)
Rationale for reliability incl. deficiencies:
guideline study
Qualifier:
according to guideline
Guideline:
EU Method A.3 (Relative Density)
Version / remarks:
Commission Directive 92/69/EEC
Deviations:
no
GLP compliance:
yes (incl. QA statement)
Type of method:
air comparison pycnometer (for solids)
Key result
Type:
relative density
Density:
1.211
Temp.:
20.5 °C

The density of the test item was measured in duplicate. Results obtained were 1208.0 and 1213.6 kg/m3. The mean value was 1210.8 kg/m3. In order to determine the relative density, this value was divided by 1000.0 - the density of water at 4 °C - to give a relative density of 1.2108.

Conclusions:
The relative density of the test item in this study was 1.2108 at 20.5 +/-0.5 °C.
Executive summary:

The relative density of the test item was measured using an air comparison pycnometer according to EU Method A.3. The relative desnity was found to be 1.2108 at 20.5 +/-0.5 °C.

Description of key information

The relative density is 1.2108 at 20.5 +/-0.5 °C.

Key value for chemical safety assessment

Relative density at 20C:
1.211

Additional information

The relative density of the test item was measured using an air comparison pycnometer according to EU Method A.3. The relative density was found to be 1.2108 at 20.5 +/-0.5 °C.
