Description of key information

The measured viscosity of Methyl Salicylate is 1.535 mPa.s at 25.15°C.

Key value for chemical safety assessment

Additional information

One reliable key study is available for this endpoint. In this study (Aminabhavi T.M. and Phayde H.T.S., 1996),the viscosity of Methyl salicylate was measured with a capillary viscometer in the same manner as the guideline. An electronic stopwatch was used to measure the flow times. An average of triplicate measurements was taken into account, and these were reproducible within ± 0.01 s. The viscosity value is 1.535 mPa.s at 298.15 K (corresponding to 25.15°C).
