REFERENCE SUBSTANCES:
Six chemicals for which log Koc has been reported were used to calibrate the elution time in units of log Koc. Dead time, t0 was determined by the injection of sodium nitrate solution.

PREPARATION OF TEST SOLUTIONS:
Reference substances were dissolved in acetonitrile. Concentration of these stock solutions was about 1 mg/ml. These stock solutions were diluted with eluent resulting in about 10 µg/ml solutions. In case of Sodim Nitrate the 1 mg/ml solution was prepared. Test item was dissolved in acetonitrile. The concentration of this solution was about 1 mg/ml. This stock solution was diluted with eluent resulting in 10 mg/ml solution.

DETERMINATION OF RETENTION TIMES:
Three series of the above reference solutions and the test item solution were measured alternately, with two replicate injections. For the determination of t0 (t0 = retention time of the unretarded component) sodium nitrate solution was injected. The retention times were determined.

Details on results (HPLC method):
The test item elutes with retention time of 1.41 minutes, before the first reference item having log Koc and Koc, so the calibration cannot be apply. Therefore the log Koc and Koc are lower than 0.155 and 1.00 (the logKoc and Koc of the first reference item).
Validity criteria fulfilled:
yes
Conclusions:
The test item elutes with retention time of 1.41 minutes, before the first reference item having log Koc and Koc, so the calibration cannot be apply. Therefore the log Koc and Koc are lower than 0.155 and 1.00 (the logKoc and Koc of the first reference item).
Executive summary:

The test item was investigated for its adsorption/desorption behaviour in a screening test, in accordance with EC-method C.19 (HPLC-method). The test item elutes with retention time of 1.41 minutes, before the first reference item having log Koc and Koc, so the calibration cannot be apply. Therefore the log Koc and Koc are lower than 0.155 and 1.00 (the logKoc and Koc of the first reference item).
