Additional information

One reliable key study is available on the reaction mass of 2,4,6 -tris(1 -phenylethyl)phenol and Bis(1 -phenylethyl)phenol for this endpoint.

In this study (KRACK, 2010), the explosive properties of a mixture of DSP/TSP has been determined according to the method A.14 of European Commission Regulation (EC) No. 440/2008, the OPPTS guideline 830.6316 (1995) and the GLP.

A preliminary thermal stability test carried out by DSC-measurement in a closed glass crucible with the test item showed no exothermal or endothermal effects up to the maximum temperature of 350°C and 498 °C (two runs).

The heat of decomposition was below 500 J/g. Therefore the test on explosive properties was not necessary and themixture of DSP/TSP is considered to have no explosive properties.
