Please be aware that this old REACH registration data factsheet is no longer maintained; it remains frozen as of 19th May 2023.

The new ECHA CHEM database has been released by ECHA, and it now contains all REACH registration data. There are more details on the transition of ECHA's published data to ECHA CHEM here.

Description of key information

Short-term toxicity to aquatic invertebrates: EC10(48h) and EC50(48h) > 0.1 g/L for Daphnia magna based on immobilisation (static, OECD 202, GLP)

Additional information

Based on the obtained results on acute toxicity to daphnia (toxicity above the water solubility) the test item is not classified as acutely hazardous to the environment.

But for this poorly soluble substance (0.125 mg/L @ 20°C) for which no acute toxicity is recorded at levels up to the water solubility, and which is not rapidly degradable (4% BOD after 28 days) and that has an experimentally determined log Kow ≥ 4 (log Pow > 4.7), indicating a potential to bioaccumulate, the safety net classification for aquatic toxicity will be applied.

The test item will therefore be classified as hazardous to the aquatic environment Chronic 4 (H413: May cause long lasting harmful effects to aquatic life) according to Regulation (EC) No 1272/2008 and amendments, unless other scientific evidence exists showing classification to be unnecessary.
