Acute toxicity

In the algae aquatic toxicity key study the ErC50 was >4.4 mg/L. This result was supported by a second study with algae: No effects were observed at the highest concentration obtained under test conditions (saturation) of 0.32 mg/L (72 h).

In the key acute toxicity study with Daphnia magna the test item revealed an EC50 of 0.21 mg/L (48 h).

In an acute fish toxicity study with Danio rerio under semistatic conditions an LC50 of 1.7 mg/L (96 h) was found. In a second acute fish toxicity study with Oryziva latipes according to OECD203 also under semi-static conditions an LC50 of 0.62 mg/l (96h) was found. Both studies were performed according to standard methods and under GLP.

In a bacteria respiration inhibition study no inhibition of activated sludge respiration due to the test item was observed. The EC10/EC50 (3 h) of the test item is >260 mg/L.

Chronic toxicity

In the algae key study the 72h NOEC was reported to be 1.5 mg/L.

The chronic toxicity study with Daphnia magna resulted in a NOEC (reproduction) of 0.073 mg/L.

An early life stage study with Oryzias latipes reported an NOEC of 0.0567 mg/L.
