Please be aware that this old REACH registration data factsheet is no longer maintained; it remains frozen as of 19th May 2023.

The new ECHA CHEM database has been released by ECHA, and it now contains all REACH registration data. There are more details on the transition of ECHA's published data to ECHA CHEM here.

Additional information

In a guideline and GLP assessment of ready biodegradability by sewage treatment micro-organisms, ethoxypropanol attained 68% degradation after 28 days as measured by oxygen consumed. The biodegradation curve showed that degradation exceeded 60% within 10 days of the degradation attaining 10%; therefore satisfying the 10-day window validation criterion cited in the OECD guidelines. Accordingly, ethoxypropanol is considered to be readily biodegradable under the conditions of this test.

In a guideline and GLP assessment of ready biodegradability by activated sewage sludge micro-organisms, ethoxypropanol attained 78% degradation after 28 days as indicated by daily oxygen consumption. Degradation of the test material exceeded 10% on day 6 of the study and attained 60% on day 15; therefore satisfying the 10-day window validation criterion cited in the OECD guidelines.Accordingly, ethoxypropanol is considered to be readily biodegradable under the conditions of this test.
