Please be aware that this old REACH registration data factsheet is no longer maintained; it remains frozen as of 19th May 2023.

The new ECHA CHEM database has been released by ECHA, and it now contains all REACH registration data. There are more details on the transition of ECHA's published data to ECHA CHEM here.

Endpoint:
flash point of flammable liquids
Type of information:
experimental study
Adequacy of study:
key study
Reliability:
1 (reliable without restriction)
Rationale for reliability incl. deficiencies:
guideline study
Qualifier:
according to guideline
Guideline:
EU Method A.9 (Flash-Point)
Deviations:
no
GLP compliance:
yes (incl. QA statement)
Type of method:
non-equilibrium method closed cup
Key result
Remarks on result:
other: No flash point was determined under the conditions of the test.

The barometric pressure at the time of testing was 1014 mbar.

In the duplicate determinations, no flash was observed before the test substance appeared to boil at approximately 100 °C. This observation precluded obtaining a flash point value.

Description of key information

No flash point was determined under the conditions of the test (101400 Pa) (EU A.9)

Key value for chemical safety assessment

Additional information

No flash point was determined under the conditions of the test (101400 Pa)

EU Method A.9 was considered more appropriate than EU Method A.10 (Flammability (Solids)) given the low melting temperature of the test material (36°C).
