Applicant's summary and conclusion

Validity criteria fulfilled:
yes
Remarks:
The immobilisation of control animals must not be higher than 10% at the end of the test. The conc. of dissolved oxygen ought to be higher than 3 mg/L during the assay. pH must not change more than 1.5 units. Validity criteria have been satisfied.
Conclusions:
Under the test conditions, the 48h Daphnia magna straus EC50 (immobility) of 2,4,6 trimethylphenol is 3.403 mg/L.
Executive summary:

According to OECD 202 and in compliance with GLP, an acute immobilization study was conducted with Daphnia magna. A range-finding test was conducted to determine the test concentrations to be used for the definitive test.

For the definitive test the following concentration were used: 50, 20, 8, 3.2, and 1.28 mg/L and a control. In the definitive study, the test concentration were interpolated from the measured test concentration. The 48 -hour Daphnia magna straus EC50 for immobility was 3.403 mg/L (evaluated using EPA Probit Analysis Program Version 1.5).
