Additional information

The highest BCF value, calculated for individual stream constituents, was 481 L/kg, which is below the criteria for a substance to bioaccumulate according to Annex XIII of REACH regulations. However, some constituents do have a Log Kow of > 4, which means that, for the purpose of classification and labelling, reaction products of C4 alcohols and C4 alkenes obtained as by-products from the manufacturing of butan-2-ol by sulfuric acid esterification and hydrolysis of butene would be considered to have components with the potential to bioaccumulate.
