Please be aware that this old REACH registration data factsheet is no longer maintained; it remains frozen as of 19th May 2023.

The new ECHA CHEM database has been released by ECHA, and it now contains all REACH registration data. There are more details on the transition of ECHA's published data to ECHA CHEM here.

Additional information

In accordance with REACH Regulation 1907/2006, Annex X, Column 2, studies of the effects on soil organisms may need to be considered. If there is the potential for adsorption to soil it cannot be assumed that, in tests on soil organisms, exposure through pore water will not differ significantly from that in water. As a result, data from aquatic testing cannot be used to indicate possible hazards.

While no data are available on toxicity to terrestrial arthropods, data on a sediment reworker, Chironomus riparius, are available and could be taken as an indicator that effects on soil organisms may be minimal. In this study a No Observed Effect Concentration (NOEC), based on the number of emerged adult insects, mean emergence time (development rate) and sex ratio of emerged adults, determined at 1000 mg/kg dry weight based on the nominal concentration, and 740 mg/kg dry weight based on the mean measured concentration of the substance in sediment (658 mg/kg and 487 mg/kg accounting for differences in molecular weight between the registed substance and the tested structural analogue).
