Please be aware that this old REACH registration data factsheet is no longer maintained; it remains frozen as of 19th May 2023.

The new ECHA CHEM database has been released by ECHA, and it now contains all REACH registration data. There are more details on the transition of ECHA's published data to ECHA CHEM here.

Endpoint:
bioaccumulation in aquatic species: fish
Data waiving:
study scientifically not necessary / other information available
Justification for data waiving:

Endpoint:
bioaccumulation in aquatic species: fish
Type of information:
(Q)SAR
Adequacy of study:
supporting study
Reliability:
4 (not assignable)
Rationale for reliability incl. deficiencies:
results derived from a (Q)SAR model, with limited documentation / justification
Conclusions:
BCF derived with measured water solubility limit (13.1 mg/L) and measured log Kow value (4.84) is 725 L/kg (Log BCF = 2.86).
With an estimated log Kow value (by EPISuite) of 6.1 the BCF estimate is 4940 L/kg (Log BCF = 3.69).

Description of key information

This study is waived because for the PBT/vPvB assessment the P will be addressed first. A simulation study is proposed.  Furthermore, the main component has an estimated BCF of 725 L/kg, which is below the threshold for B-classification.

1,2,4,5,7,8-Hexoxonane, 3,6,9-trimethyl-, 3,6,9-tris(Ethyl and Propyl) derivatives is only used in industrial settings (manufacture, and downstream use) with no wide dispersive uses.  This test is waived as releases to the aquatic compartment are very unlikely due to the highly contained processes during manufacture and downstream (industrial) use.
