Description of key information

The water solubility of test item at 20.0°C ± 0.5°C was determined to be < 0.1 mg/L.

Key value for chemical safety assessment

Additional information

A study was conducted according to OECD TG 105 to determine the water solubility of the test item. In a pre-test the test item was dissolved in water and was stirred overnight. The test item was not dissolved. Thus the water solubility was estimate to be < 12 mg/L and the column elution method was chosen for main test. Therefore 0.445g of test item were dissolved in 100 mL dichloromethane and mixed with 22.354 g of quartz. After evaporation of the solvent, 4.574 g and 5.917 g respectively of loaded quartz were filled in the column, conditioned with water for 2 h and eluted with water. Flow was held constant by a pump. 5 times 10 consecutive fractions were collected and unified to each 5 samples per column. The water solubility was determined to be < 0.1 mg/L. In order to obtain reliable information to concentrations in the range of 1-100 µg/L additional tests with the column elution method and the flask method were carried out. The observed values were strongly varying in this low range of concentration. So taking all tests into account a more precise information than water solubility < 0.1 mg/L cannot be given
