Additional information

One long-term study conducted with the earthworm Eisenia fetida, according to the OECD Guideline 222, is available for the subcategory 2 member Fatty acids, C18-unsaturated, dimers (CAS No. 61788-89-4). No effects occurred in this study up to the highest test concentration of 1000 mg/kg soil dw. The members of the subcategory 2 predominantly oligomers, are considered as not harmful to terrestrial organisms and no further testing is needed. It is assumed, that due to the lack of effects in long-term toxicity tests with soil invertebrates as well as in a long-term toxicity test with fish within the solubility limit of the read-across substance Fatty acids, C18-unsaturated, dimers, hydrogenated (CAS 68783-41-5) and a lack of bioaccumulation potential, toxicity to terrestrial arthropods cannot be expected. Therefore, an additional toxicity test with arthropods would not be reasonable.
