Endpoint:
pyrophoric solids
Data waiving:
study scientifically not necessary / other information available
Justification for data waiving:
the study does not need to be conducted because the substance is known to be stable in contact with air at room temperature for prolonged periods of time (days) and hence, the classification procedure does not need to be applied
Endpoint:
flammable solids
Type of information:
experimental study
Adequacy of study:
key study
Reliability:
1 (reliable without restriction)
Rationale for reliability incl. deficiencies:
guideline study
Qualifier:
according to guideline
Guideline:
EU Method A.10 (Flammability (Solids))
GLP compliance:
yes
Key result
Test procedure:
burning rate test: preliminary screening test
Remarks on result:
substance does not ignite and propagate combustion either by burning with flame or smouldering along 200 mm of the powder train within the 2 minutes test period

The test item was formed into a powder train. In the preliminary screening the test substance doesn`t ignite by a hot flame from a gas burner.

Interpretation of results:
not classified based on GHS criteria
Conclusions:
In the preliminary sceening the test substance doesn`t ignite by a hot flame from a gas burner. The test item HEDP #13082 Nachsubstanz is not flammable.

Description of key information

Flammability: non-flammable

Key value for chemical safety assessment

Flammability:
not classified

Additional information

The substance has been demonstrated to undergo thermal decomposition. The requirement to test the susbstance for pyrophoricity and flammability in contact with water was waived in accordance with Section 1 of REACH Annex IX, because there is no indication on the basis of chemical structure and experience in use and handling that the substance is pyrophoric (flammable in contact with air) or flammable in contact with water.

The solid form of the registration substance has been determined not to be flammable as it failed to ignite in the preliminary screening test using EU Method A.10 Flammability of solids.

Justification for classification or non-classification

The substance is not classified for flammability according to Regulation (EC) No 1272/2008 as no ignition was observed during a study conducted in accordance with EU Method A.10.
