Description of key information

The inherent biodegradation and ready biodegradation of m-(2,3-epoxypropoxy)-N,N-bis(2,3-epoxypropyl)aniline were investigated according to OECD guideline 302 B (Zahn-Wellens/EMPA test) and OECD Guideline No 301 B respectively.

Key value for chemical safety assessment

Biodegradation in water:
under test conditions no biodegradation observed

Additional information

In the inherent biodegradation study, 8 % of m-(2,3-epoxypropoxy)-N,N-bis(2,3-epoxypropyl)aniline were degraded after 28 days. Based on the results obtained, m-(2,3-epoxypropoxy)-N,N-bis(2,3-epoxypropyl)aniline was not inherently biodegradable.

In the ready biodegradbility test, the test material attained 2% degradation after 28 days and therefore cannot be considered to be readily biodegradable under the strict terms and conditions of OECD Guideline No 301 B.
