Description of key information

The boiling point of (-)-beta-pinene was determined by Differential Scanning Calorimetry (DSC).
The boiling temperature range of the test item at 1013.25 hPa was stated as 166-179°C +/- 0.5°C (439-453 K +/- 0.5 K).

Key value for chemical safety assessment

Boiling point at 101 325 Pa:
166 °C

Additional information

Key study conducted according to OECD 103 Guideline and EU Method A.2. The result is scientifically acceptable but not obtained under GLP.

A reliability of 2 (reliable with restrictions) is assigned to the study and the obtained value is used as key value for the chemical safety assessment.

This result is supported by several litterature data with very similar values.
