Additional information

Based on a Log Kow of > 6.5 (obtained from a GLP-compliant Method A8 of Commission Directive 92/69/EEC) some bioaccumulation of NExBTL renewable diesel components may occur, with an estimated overall bioconcentration factor (BCF) of 116 obtained after modeling using BCFWIN. BCFs for the individual alkane components present were in a range from 3 to 1950, with the predominant i-alkanes iC-15, iC-16, iC-17 and iC-18 (accounting for approx. 80% of the total) exhibiting individual predicted BCFs of 275, 60, 13 and 3, respectively. The BCFWIN model predicts that bioconcentration potential of iso-alkanes containing 9-14 carbons (which account for < 8% of the total) will be highest.

This limited potential for bioaccumulation will be balanced by the ready biodegradability of NExBTL renewable diesel.
