MOST IMPORTANT SYMPTOMS AND EFFECTS (ACUTE AND DELAYED):

Symptoms: corrosive effects; mutagenic effects, toxic effects for reproduction

Treatment: For specialist advice, physicians should contact a Poisons Information Service.

Fire-fighting measures

Suitable extinguishing media: Water; dry powder; ABC powder; foam; carbon dioxide (CO₂); samd

Specific hazards during fire fighting: Burning produces noxious and toxic fumes.

Special protective equipment for fire-fighters: Wear a positive-pressure supplied air respiratory with full facepiece.

Accidental release measures

Personal precautions: Avoid contact with skin and eyes. Provide sufficient ventilation. Avoid dust formation.

Environmental precautions: Prevent from entering sewer system or surface water.

Methods for cleaning up spillages: Sweep us and dispose of as instructed.

Handling and storage

Advice on safe handling: Avoid dust formation. Use only with adequate ventilation. Keep container tightly closed. Avoid contact with skin, eyes and clothing. Avoid repeated exposure. Wear respiratory protection.

Requirements for storage areas and containers: Keep containers tightly closed in a cool, well ventilated place.

Exposure controls / personal protection

- Organisational protection measures: Ensure that eyewash stations and safety showers are close to the workstation location. Highly effective exhaust ventilation.

- Hand protection: Polyvinyl alcohol or nitrile- butyl rubber gloves. The selected protective gloves have to satisfy the specifications of EU Directive 89/686/EEC and the standard EN 374 derived from it. Before removing gloves, clean them with soap and water.

- Skin and body protection: Impervious clothing. Choose body protection according to the amount and concentration of the dangerous substance at the workplace.

- Eye protection. Eye wash bottle with pure water. Tightly fitting safety-goggles. Wear face-shield and protective suit for abnormal processing problems.

- Respiratory protection: In case of vapour formation use a respirator with an approved filter.

- Hygiene measures: Keep away from sources of ignition – No smoking (on occurrence of durst). Handle in accordance with good industrial hygiene and safety practice Avoid contact with skin, eyes and clothing.

Environmental exposure controls: Prevent from entering sewer system or surface water.

Stability and reactivity

Reactivity: No dangerous reaction known under conditions of normal use.

Chemical stability: Stable under normal conditions.

Hazardous reactions: None reasonably foreseeable.

Conditions to avoid: Extremes of temperature and direct sunlight. Exposure to moisture.

Incompatible materials: Acids; Bases, Oxidising agents.

Hazardous decomposition products: Carbon oxides; Hydrogen chloride gas; Tin oxide fumes.

Thermal decomposition: ca. 250 °C

Disposal considerations

Waste treatment methods: Dispose of as hazardous waste in compliance with local and national regulations. Dispose of wastes in an approved waste disposal facility.
