Description of key information

Key study:- Tarran (2012), OECD 109, EU Method A.3, density 1.34 x 10³ kg/m³ (1.34 g/cm³) at 21.2 ± 0.5 °C.

Additional information

The density of the test material was investigated using a gas comparison pycnometer, designed to be compatible with Method A.3 Relative Density of Commission Regulation (EC) No 440/2008 of 30 May 2008 and Method 109 of the OECD Guidelines for Testing of Chemicals, 27 July 1995.

A reliability score of 1 was assigned, in accordance with the criteria for assigning data quality in line with the principles described by Klimisch (1997).

The density of the test material has been determined to be 1.34 x 10³ kg/m³ at 21.2 ± 0.5 °C (equivalent to 1.3 g/cm³) under the conditions of this study.

The following were provided as supporting information:

Chemical Book (2012), listed the product specification of the registered substance, no information relating to the method of generating the data, original source or GLP status are provided, therefore a reliability score of 4 was assigned, in line with the principles for data quality as described by Klimisch (1997). The density of the registered substance was reported to be 1.3 g/cm3.

A reliability score of 4 was also awarded to both the IUCLID Data Set (2006) and the dossier prepared for the harmonisation of the classification of the registered substance under directive 67/548/EEC (2005), both of which summarised the information provided in the same company MSDS. The density of the registered substance was reported as 1.3 g/cm3 at 20 °C.
