Please be aware that this old REACH registration data factsheet is no longer maintained; it remains frozen as of 19th May 2023.

The new ECHA CHEM database has been released by ECHA, and it now contains all REACH registration data. There are more details on the transition of ECHA's published data to ECHA CHEM here.

Reference
Endpoint:
water solubility
Type of information:
experimental study
Adequacy of study:
key study
Study period:
2002
Reliability:
1 (reliable without restriction)
Rationale for reliability incl. deficiencies:
guideline study
Qualifier:
according to guideline
Guideline:
OECD Guideline 105 (Water Solubility)
Version / remarks:
- EEC Directive 92/69, A.6
Deviations:
not specified
GLP compliance:
yes
Type of method:
column elution method
Key result
Water solubility:
1.9 mg/L
Temp.:
20 °C
pH:
ca. 6.8
Remarks on result:
other: Standard deviation ±0.6 mg/L; and ±0.5°C
Details on results:
The whole test item handling was performed under red light. The standard solutions were prepared under red light and stored in amber coloured glass wear in the refrigerator. The circulation apparatus was protected from light by an aluminium foil.
During the main test 6 samples were analysed in the first run (0.52 ml/min) and 6 samples during the second run (0.26 ml/min), each with a sampling interval of one hour. The first sample of each run was not used, because the apparatus was not conditioned. Total elution time was 97.5 hours. The quantification was performed by HPLC. The measured results differ by 32 %. The higher variation might be caused by the instability of the test item. A second peak with a retention time of 15.2 minutes in the chromatogram indicates the instability.
Conclusions:
Interpretation of results (migrated information): slightly soluble (0.1-100 mg/l) 1.9 mg/L
The water solubility of the test substance is 1.9 mg/l at 20°C at pH 6.8
Executive summary:

In this guideline (OECD 105) study conducted to GLP standards, the test material (EC 438-340-0) was determined to be slightly soluble, 1.9 mg/l at 20°C at pH 6.8.

Description of key information

Study conducted to recognised testing guidelines with GLP.

Key value for chemical safety assessment

Water solubility:
1.9 mg/L
at the temperature of:
20 °C

Additional information

1.9 mg/L at 20°C at pH 6.8
2.8 mg/L at 20°C at pH 6.1 (retest, without correction for the purity)

Both presented results were performed by different independent testing laboratories using the column elution method and the quantification was carried out by HPLC.

The test item is light sensitive. Therefore all testing item handling was performed under red light testing by RCC Ltd. or turn of the light in the laboratory hood testing by SIEMENS Ltd. respectively.
