In line with the recommendations of OECD 115 and EC A.5 the surface tension of an aqueous solution of Oxirane, mono[(C12-14-alkyloxy)methyl] derivs. / ERC Nr 17 may be considered negligible and not relevant for the evaluation of environmental fate and behaviour in biological systems.

There are two relevant guidelines for measuring the surface tension of a substance in aqueous solution. These are OECD Guideline 115 and EC Guideline A.5. In both guidelines it is stated that a surface tension of a substance with a negligible solubility in water (less than 1 mg/L) may be considered too low to warrant experimental determination.
