Description of key information

In an algae toxicity test with D. subspicatus an ErC50 of >500 mg/L, related to the growth rate, was determined. The test substance is with high probability acutely not harmful to aquatic algae.

Key value for chemical safety assessment

Additional information

An aquatic algae toxicity test with Despodesmus subspicatus according to German Industrial Standard DIN38412 part 9 is available (BASF, 2/0056/89/t72, 1989). Algae were exposed to test substance concentrations of 0, 7.812, 15.625, 31.25, 62.5, 125, 250 and 500 mg/L for a period of 72 hours. The calculated ErC50 value after 72 hours in this study was >500 mg/L, related to the growth rate.
