Please be aware that this old REACH registration data factsheet is no longer maintained; it remains frozen as of 19th May 2023.

The new ECHA CHEM database has been released by ECHA, and it now contains all REACH registration data. There are more details on the transition of ECHA's published data to ECHA CHEM here.

Additional information

The long-term exposure of peracetic acid was evaluated in Zebra fish (Danio rerio) during an early life stages study performed according to OECD Guideline 210 (Scheerbaum, 2007). The statistically significant effects were observed on the survival at the two highest exposure concentrations, whereas no effects were seen on hatching or growth. Peracetic acid concentrations were analytically monitored (by MTSO method) at the highest treatment level. Despite using a continuous flow-through test system the measured concentrations in mixing chambers, and especially in test vessels, dropped below the limit of quantification of the method, 0.00754 mg/L. Initial concentrations were estimated to be 42 % of corresponding nominal concentrations and, accordingly, the NOEC value based on initial concentrations was calculated to be 0.00094 mg/L.
