EC number: 204-528-4
CAS number: 122-20-3
With high probability long-term effects on aquatic invertebrates are not
expected (NOEC >= 10 mg/L).
The long-term effects of the substance on Daphnia magna were
investigated in GLP study following OECD TG 211 (Isopropanol Amines
Consortium, 2022; report no. S21-05542).
A range finder showing no adverse effects at the highest test
concentration of 10 mg/L was done beforehand. As no adverse effects
occured, the final test was conducted as a limit test at 10 mg/L in
accordance with OECD guideline 211, section 36. As a “safety net
approach” (to meet potential toxicity discrepancies between the range
finder and the final toxicity test) 1.0 mg/L and 3.16 mg/L were
additionally set up in the final toxicity test.
The test was conducted semi-static with nominal concentrations of
1.00, 3.16 and 10.0 mg/L and control with renewal of test solutions
three times per week. The test item concentrations were analytically
verified and proved to be stable (94 to 107% of nominal values);
therefore, the effect values are expressed as nominal concentrations.
The validity criteria of the guideline were met. The study is valid.
The first offspring was observed on day 7 in the control and all
treatments. No parental mortality occurred over the complete exposure
period in the control and all treatments. Parental mortality and alive
offspring per alive adult per test end were evaluated: The 21-d LOEC
values are > 10.0 mg/L (nominal). The NOEC was observed at >= 10.0 mg/L
It can be concluded that with high probability long-term effects on
aquatic invertebrates are not expected (NOEC >= 10 mg/L).
