Please be aware that this old REACH registration data factsheet is no longer maintained; it remains frozen as of 19th May 2023.

The new ECHA CHEM database has been released by ECHA, and it now contains all REACH registration data. There are more details on the transition of ECHA's published data to ECHA CHEM here.

Description of key information

Four key studies are available for 3 trophic levels:

Plants, EC10 is 7.36 mg/kg soil with 0.66% organic carbon (Corg) or 1.12 organic matter (Morg);

Earthworm and Folsomia NOECs are 45 mg/kg dw soil with 10% Morg or 6% Corg);

Nitrification by micro-organism EC10/NOEC is 1000 mg/kg soil with 0.92% Corg or 1.6% Morg.

Conversion to standard OC: According to ECHA guidance R.10, page 38 the results need to be converted to a standard soil with organic matter (Morg) of 3.4% or 2% organic carbon (Corg) (for the conversion Morg to Corg, Morg is divided by 1.7, Echa guidance Table R.16-8).

The converted results for plants, earthworms, Folsomia and nitrification by micro-organism are: 23, 15,15 and 3696 mg/kg dw soil, respectively. The lowest EC10/NOEC value is the 15 mg/kg dw soil for earthworm and Folsomia, which will be used for the PNEC derivation.

For 5 plants EC10 values could be derived: 3.55, 5.20, 6.78, 10.3, 12.3. One plant had a NOEC of >1000 mg/kg soil dw and was not included in calculation of the average. The average EC10 was therefore 7.63 mg/kg soil.
