Description of key information

D-Glucopyranose, oligomeric, C10-16-alkyl polyglycosides (110615-47-9) is considered as harmful to fish under conditions tested based on the test results.

Key value for chemical safety assessment

Additional information

Several studies for the evaluation of short-term effects of D-Glucopyranose, oligomeric, C10-16-alkyl polyglycosides (CAS: 110615-47-9) to marine and freshwater fish were performed. Scophthalmus maximus was used for the marine and Brachydanio rerio for the freshwater compartment, respectively. The freshwater study, performed according to OECD guideline 203 “Fish, Acute Toxicity Test”, exhibited a LC50 (96 h) of 2.95 mg a. i./L (Stelter, 1995a). Tests with marine species resulted in a LC50 (96 h) of 4.4 mg/L, 4.88 mg/L and 20.27 mg/L (Hudson, 2003a, b, c). These studies were performed according to “OECD Guideline 203 (Fish, Acute Toxicity Test) adapted by OSPARCOM (1995) for marine testing of offshore chemicals”.
