Description of key information

There is no information concerning terrestrial toxicity of Ethyleneglycol dimethacrylate (EGDMA) available. However, the substance shows a low adsorptive potential to soil (based on an estimated log Koc of 2.12 (estimated via EPIWEB, KocWin method version 2.00)) as well as a low bioaccumulative (log Pow = 2.4) potential. According to different test guidelines (OECD 301 F and OECD 301 D) Ethyleneglycol dimethacrylate was assessed to be readily biodegradable in activated sludge but failing the 10-day window. (Evonik Industries 2012 and 1990).

Results from a Mackay level III distribution modelling indicate that if EGDMA is released to air, it mainly distributes to soil (43.8%). A similar amount remains in the air (42.7%) or partitions to water (13.5%). If the substance is released into water, it mainly remains in water.
