Reference
Endpoint:
boiling point
Type of information:
experimental study
Adequacy of study:
key study
Study period:
09.02.2006 - 09.02.2006
Reliability:
1 (reliable without restriction)
Rationale for reliability incl. deficiencies:
guideline study
Remarks:
OECD 104, consistent with GLP. Boiling point was taken from measured vapour pressure curve.
Qualifier:
according to guideline
Guideline:
other: OECD Guideline 104 (Vapour Pressure Curve) adopted by the Council on 27 July1995
Deviations:
no
Principles of method if other than guideline:
The vapour pressure is determined by measuring the boiling temperature of the substance at various specified pressures between roughly 10 to
approx. 10³ hPa. The apparatus consists of a tube with a boiling section (by electrical heating) in the lower part, a cooler in the middle part, and an
outlet to a pressure regulation system in the upper part. The thermometer is placed in the vapour above the surface of the liquid. The temperature of the vapour is measured as a function of the pressure.
GLP compliance:
no
Remarks:
consistent with GLP
Type of method:
dynamic method
Specific details on test material used for the study:
- Name of test material (as cited in study report): Ethyleneglycol dimethacrylate
- Substance type: organic
- Physical state: liquid
Key result
Boiling pt.:
275 °C
Atm. press.:
965.8 hPa
Remarks on result:
other: Determined according to OECD guideline 104. Boiling point was taken from measured vapour pressure curve.

A portion of Ethyleneglycol dimethacrylate was given in a glass apparatus. The measurements started at the initial pressure of 15.2 hPa and at thermodynamic equilibrium. The pressure was increased stepwise.

Conclusions:
The boiling point of Ethyleneglycol dimethacrylate was determined according to OECD guideline 104 [adopted on 27 July 1995] and EU test
method A.4 [Directive 92/69/EEC, Official Journal L 383 A 1992] with the dynamic method.
The boiling point was: 275 °C at 965.8 hPa. The boiling point was taken from measured vapour pressure curve.
Executive summary:

The boiling point of Ethyleneglycol dimethacrylate was determined according to OECD guideline 104 [adopted on 27 July 1995] and EU test method A.4 [Directive 92/69/EEC, Official Journal L 383 A 1992] with the dynamic method. The boiling point was: 275 °C at 965.8 hPa. The boiling point was taken from measured vapour pressure curve.
