Please be aware that this old REACH registration data factsheet is no longer maintained; it remains frozen as of 19th May 2023.

The new ECHA CHEM database has been released by ECHA, and it now contains all REACH registration data. There are more details on the transition of ECHA's published data to ECHA CHEM here.

Description of key information

The substance degrades both abiotically and biotically. Hydrolysis occurs rapidly at 25°C (1/2 life <2 days) at pH 9 but the rate reduces with pH. At pH 7 1/2 life is estimated as approximately 40 days and at pH4 at approximately 80 days. However, the substance also degrades biotically at the pH used in a standard ready biodegradation test. In a ready biodegradation tests 70% biodegradation has been observed in an OECD 301D test within 28d fulfilling the window criterion for the Closed Bottle Test (van Ginkel 2011). Based on these results the substance can be considered to degrade rapidly under environmental conditions and transient at higher pHs, and is considered as readily biodegradable according to the OECD criterion (i.e. meeting the 14-day window in the Closed Bottle Test). Supplementary data confirming degradation in other compartments are therefore not deemed necessary.
